My journey from overweight dad to Ironman

I was 38 when I experienced the scary realization that I was getting older, my kids were growing to too fast and only knew their dad as an overweight workaholic, and that my wife was lucky enough to have a husband with an outstanding “dad-bod”.

All this to say – I was fat, unhappy, and unsatisfied with life. I may have been an athlete in my younger days, but that life was well in my rear-view. What I saw in front of me was a life headed for heart disease and doctor visits.

I knew I needed a change, but I did not know what that looked like. I did not know what the first step was to getting healthy, inspiring my kids, and giving my wife the best version of myself.

All that changed when a friend of mine completed Ironman Texas. His accomplishment inspired me in a way I was not expecting. A doorway opened for me when he crossed that finish line that led me into a world of health, self-confidence, competition, and happiness.

I will dig deeper into the what, when, where, how, and why of this story, as well as bring you into the world that has transformed my life all within this site. I hope you will join me. Let’s inspire each other to
LIVE, COMPETE, AND THRIVE!
